The AAAS Martin and Rose Wachtel Cancer Research Award is an annual award, funded by an endowment established through a generous bequest from Martin L. Wachtel, which honors early-career investigators who have performed outstanding work in the field of cancer research.

This year's winner is Luke Gilbert, an Assistant Professor at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Gilbert will deliver his lecture titled "Mapping the genetic interaction landscape of human cancers at single cell resolution" virtually via Webex hosted by the National Cancer Institute/National Institutes of Health on August 28, 2020 from 12:00pm - 1:00pm (EDT). The award-winner's essay will be published in Science Translational Medicine the week of the award ceremony. A link to view the event and essay will be emailed to registered attendees the week of August 28, 2020.
