The current exhibition, “The Art & Science of Healing” at the American Association for Advancement of Science, is presented in collaboration with the National Museum of Health and Medicine and features the work of artist Ted Meyer. This exhibition explores a patient's journey through injury, disease and trauma to the healing process, from researcher to physician, to pathologist, to surgeon, to caregiver, to patient. Join a panel of scholars, practitioners, and experts as they explore the intersection of science, social science and healing.
The colloquium panel will focus on the integrative nature of healing and includes:
- Ted Meyer, Artist, Patient Advocate, Artist in Residence at University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine
- CAPT Moira McGuire, NC, USPHS, Assistant Chief, General Internal Medicine and Chief, Integrative Health & Wellness, Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.
- CAPT Robert T. Howard, MD, USN, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon, Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.
In collaboration with the AAAS Colloquium Committee and the National Museum of Health and Medicine, an element of the Defense Health Agency.
